I only pray that people don't tire of their Companions once Pandemic is behind us, since some Humans only have Selfish motives for owning a Pet and don't look at it from the Animal's perspective. I have almost always had Adult Cats Adopt us, so they tended to circumvent The Process of going to a Shelter to find one most of the time. I did once get an Adult Shelter Tonkinese Cat who was elderly when we got her and lived a relatively long life with us, she was practically toothless when she passed, sadly got so old that crossing the Road one day she didn't quite make it... all of our Cats have been Working Cats on Acreage and been allowed inside, but since most never were inside exclusive... and strays or ferals to begin with, we had to give them access to the great outdoors or they panic something fierce and that can be a whole new situation. *LOL* Bohemianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03743017084098726581noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-812951198483259605.post-71342456557150368612020-05-14T22:19:20.686-04:002020-05-14T22:19:20.686-04:00Congratulations on the new addition!Congratulations on the new addition!Marie Smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03882722634065183364noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-812951198483259605.post-50773678033015661082020-05-14T19:48:03.636-04:002020-05-14T19:48:03.636-04:00Hope you have many great years with the new family...Hope you have many great years with the new family member.Marie Smithhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03882722634065183364noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-812951198483259605.post-2708310441106461512020-05-14T17:18:11.749-04:002020-05-14T17:18:11.749-04:00Oh that is good to hear that you got a sweet compa...Oh that is good to hear that you got a sweet companion! Mostly because it's a back killer cleaning the littler boxes. No more animals for me after this. I can barely take care of myself anymore! LOL! I've been very impressed with it because it's clean and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. When we got our Sam and Katy, I wasn't looking for kittens, but I kept going back to these two after every round I made. Katy was very friendly and purred like crazy. Sam stayed in the back corner, trying to make himself as small as possible. When I put my hand into the cage he hissed, but I realized he was just scared. When I said I'd take them both the staff member who helped with paperwork was so relieved. They were afraid no one would adopt Sam because he didn't seem very friendly.

After I got them home I realized that what he was afraid of was hands. If I petted him from behind where he couldn't see my hand, he loved it. But if he saw a hand coming he ran and hid. He and Katy are 8 now, and he still flinches if he sees a hand coming toward him to pet him, but he trusts us now and doesn't run away any more.

I think you will have a wonderful cat once Asia gets used to her new home!Leighhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02435811789823712254noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-812951198483259605.post-37058572828924037402020-05-14T14:27:44.241-04:002020-05-14T14:27:44.241-04:00Congrats on your new fur baby.
