Sometimes I just can't believe what a big number that is. Of course, we will be approaching 50 years married next year. Yikes. We met in 1967 - so I have known him for 51 years.
We have had our ups and downs - but we are still together - standing side by side - learning to live as two old timers who have changed greatly from the happy couple in that picture - and have created a great family.
An achievement.
Happy Anniversary to us!

SWEET! Lovely picture, made me smile. Hubby and I are in just a few days and not to far behind you at 46 years. Our time frames are quite similar. I knew him about 4 years prior to that. Thanks for the visit, always appreciated. I usually much more ruthless with shows and books also, you shouldn't have to work to like something; but since I have more leisure than normal, decided to play through.
Congratulations!
I love your smiles at each other!
Congratulations. 49 years is a long, long time. You got married in June 1969. I was married (the first time in December 1969) I'm blown away that it was that many years ago. What a lovely wedding picture. Do you have big plans??
My first thought when I brought this picture up ... My God - we were too young to be doing that. Age 22! Not so young I guess, but young-ish by today's standards.
No, not big plans. We typically downplay celebrations of birthdays and anniversaries for each other. And it has been a tough month - tomorrow's post will explain.
Congratulations on 49 years. : )
Same age we were when we got married 34 years ago, and oh, how sure we were that we were ready! ;-)
Oh, what a LOVELY photo. Congratulations!
Love the gloves! Congratulations to you both and sorry about the bad month you have been having.
Thanks. Enjoying the pictures on your blog of the home you are building. What a joy it must be to design and build your home from the ground up - like you did. I have heard horror stories about doing that but you guys seem to be enjoying it.
Thanks. It was taken by a guest. Our professional photos got messed up. Another long story for another time.
You know, I never saw the gloves until you mentioned them. That was my mom.
